The house belongs to David Waldrep, who is a lawyer-turned-investor, and his wife Kathryn, who is a physician. The couple remodeled the house after they purchased it in 1999. The renovation took roughly two years to complete. The Waldreps took inspiration from the work of architect Richard Meier, who is famous for his clean, geometric designs and his liberal use of the color white.
When Dr. Waldrep asked for a water feature, the home’s architect, Guy Courtney, took a trip to Japan. When he returned to Dallas, he built a “water wall” above the fireplace in the dining room. “We have a 500-pound slab of granite that’s been cut at two different angles,” said Mr. Waldrep. “Water runs up and down it 24/7.”

Outside, there is an infinity-edge swimming pool, in addition to an abstract metal sculpture that depicts Jesus on the cross. Coyotes and bobcats occasionally roam the grounds. “There’s all kinds of wildlife that visit the property,” said Mr. Waldrep.
The couple is selling the home because they have chosen to downsize. “We will go yelling and screaming because it’s our paradise,” said Mr. Waldrep.
