That's what the President thinks -- at least when it comes to developing green and alternative energy sources.

President Obama is in Las Vegas, Nevada, today to mark the 100th day anniversary of the economic stimulus signing and to promote green energy.  He selected Nellis Air Force Base for his speech because Nellis is home to the largest solar energy field in the western hemisphere.  Its field has over 72,000 solar panels which save the base about $1 million a year in energy costs.

The President applauded the base's green energy project and announced that more funding would be made available for the similar programs.  "This base serves as a shining example of what's possible when we harness the power of clean, renewable energy to build a new, firmer foundation for economic growth," said Mr. Obama.

Mr. Obama says he wants to duplicate the success of Nellis AFB, "because in this case, what happens in Vegas should not stay in Vegas. We'll invest in the development and deployment of solar technology wherever it can thrive and we'll find the best way to integrate solar power into our electric grid."
