Trump campaign to beef up rally security with bomb dogs, undercover officers

Donald Trump beefed up his security ahead of his latest "Make America Great Again" rally Thursday evening in Worcester, Mass.

According to the city's local newspaper, the Republican presidential hopeful has requested additional resources from local law enforcement authorities to ensure his own safety and the safety of the thousands of supporters who are expected to attend his rally.

Worcester Police Chief Gary Gemme told MassLive the campaign's request for added security could cost up to $25,000.

According to Gemme, undercover officers, canine teams that are trained to detect explosives and police patrol dogs will be present at the event, and local police will be monitoring various social media channels leading up to, and during the event for evidence of emerging and credible threats.
