Pelosi Has “no concerns whatsoever” About How Leadership Handled Massa Issue

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) indicated Thursday she wasn’t worried about a decision by the House Ethics Committee to expand its probe involving sexual harassment allegations involving former Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY).

The Ethics Committee Wednesday voted to widen its dragnet and investigate whether lawmakers, aides or House officers may have covered up the allegations.

Pelosi says she has “no concerns whatsoever” about the inquiry.  She’s promised to make herself available to the Ethics Committee for interviews.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) spoke voluntarily with the ethics panel Wednesday.  In fact, when Hoyer became aware of the allegations, he told Massa’s staff to refer the issue to the Ethics Committee promptly or he would do so himself.

Massa resigned last month. He claims he didn’t harass his aides and blamed problems in the office on his usage of “salty language” around the office.

Massa was a career Navy veteran before winning election in 2008.
