The Nobel Prize is a ceremonial event in which it's recipients participate in speeches, banquets, concerts and press conferences.  But President Obama is cutting his Nobel visit short with just a quick acceptance speech and evening banquet which has upset many Norwegians who feel they've been stiffed.

In a poll by Norwegian newspaper VG, 44% of those asked believe it is "rude" of the President to skip the Nobel lunch with their King.  Even more, 53%, say the President is rude for not attending the traditional Nobel concert.

The President may have skipped the official luncheon but Mr. Obama and the First Lady did meet with King Harald V and Queen Sonja.  He also held a joint press conference with Norway's Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg.
