New Political Blog BigGovernment.com Launches Thursday

A conservative blogger and publisher who took on Hollywood earlier this year is setting his sights on the nation's political establishment.

BigGovernment.com launched Thursday as a "one-stop shop" for commentary and other political information, according to Andrew Breitbart, the site's founder.

"This is speaking to the zeitgeist of the blogosphere that every story has an underlying relationship to what's going on in the Obama administration and how the Republican Party is going to regroup as it relates to issues of the expansion of government powers," Breitbart told FOXNews.com. "We are just now starting to vet the president and the people he's put into power."

Breitbart said the blog will offer a platform to those who respect the concepts of limited government, individual liberties and an "adherence to the principals of our Founding Fathers."

Brietbart in January launched bighollywood.breitbart.com, which he said currently averages up to 750,000 unique visitors monthly.

Editor Mike Flynn said BigGovernment's contributors will include former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint and Dana Loesch, a radio host and spokeswoman for the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition.

"This is going to be a one-stop shop for those who have had enough of this 'progressive' radicalization of our government while trying to pretend that there's nothing 'fishy' going on," Breitbart said. "This is going to have varied perspectives from a very big tent."

Breitbart said the site will be the "biggest component" in a series of blogs that will be launched in connection to news aggregation site Breitbart.com in the next year.

"This is not a narrow Republican/conservative idea factory," he said. "There will be a robust debate from within. I am not trying to dictate policy here, I am trying to show the country -- perhaps the world -- that the advocates of liberty and free markets are not as narrow-thinking as the traditional media would have you believe."
