Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal doubled down on his Christian conservative message Sunday while suggesting that people immigrating to America should “assimilate.”
The Southern Republican insisted on ABC's "This Week" that he would not change his views on gay marriage, among other issues, based on popular opinion.
“Many politicians are evolving on this issue based on the polls,” Jindal said of gay marriage rights before claiming his traditional views would never shift in a similar way.
Jindal was one of few possible 2016 candidates who did not attend the Iowa Freedom Summit, which drew dozens of White House hopefuls to Des Moines Saturday. The Louisiana conservative instead attended a prayer rally in Baton Rouge.
