Republican strategist Lisa Boothe told viewers Friday of "Special Report with Bret Baier" that the resignation of Donald Trump’s campaign manager Paul Manafort was "something that needed to happen."

Boothe argued that Manafort’s “alleged connections to this pro-Russian Ukrainian group” could be a distraction from one of the goals of Trump’s general election campaign.

“What Donald Trump needs to do is lay out the indictment against Hillary Clinton for both foreign policy and also with The Clinton Foundation,” said Boothe. “How is he supposed to do that if there's this drip, drip, drip of information with Paul Manafort…?”
