Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker named Super Bowl LX MVP
Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl LX MVP after Sunday’s 29-13 win over the New England Patriots, becoming the first running back to receive the award in nearly 30 years.
Walker, 25, rushed for 135 yards and added another 26 receiving yards. He is the first running back to earn Super Bowl MVP honors since Terrell Davis won it in 1998 in the Denver Broncos win over the Green Bay Packers.
Seahawks win Super Bowl LX after dominant defensive performance
The Seattle Seahawks’ dominant defense led the way to a Super Bowl LX victory over the New England Patriots, 29-13, on Sunday night.
It’s the first time since 2013 that the Seahawks have won the Super Bowl, and it is some revenge for how the 2014 season ended with Patriots hero Malcolm Butler’s famous interception at the goal line to halt Seattle’s chances at back-to-back Lombardi Trophies.
This wasn’t an offensive shootout in this game, but rather a stellar defensive battle for both teams. But it was the Seahawks' defense that had constant pressure and disruption throughout, as well as the necessary turnovers crucial to winning a Super Bowl.

Seahawks recover fumble for 44-yard touchdown, take 29–13 Super Bowl LX lead
The Seahawks are minutes away from being crowned Super Bowl LX champions after linebacker Uchenna Nwosu recovered a fumble for a 44-yard touchdown.
Drake Maye was sacked by Seattle cornerback Devon Witherspoon, causing a fumble that was recovered by Nwosu at New England’s 44-yard line, giving the Seahawks a 29-7 lead with just over four minutes remaining in the game.
New England responded with a 7-yard touchdown by Rhamondre Stevenson. A failed two-point conversion put the score at 29-13.
Julian Love interception sets up another Seahawks' field goal for 22-7 lead
Seattle Seahawks safety Julian Love intercepted Drake Maye on a pass intended for Kenneth Williams on second-and-3 to get the ball back in Sam Darnold’s hands with 8:48 left in the game.
Darnold couldn’t find the end zone and the field goal unit came out to give Jason Myers another opportunity to score, extending Seattle’s lead to 22-7 with a 26-yard field goal.
Seahawks’ AJ Barner scores first touchdown of Super Bowl LX, Patriots responds with TD
It took more than three quarters, but the Seattle Seahawks scored the first touchdown of Super Bowl LX on a 16-yard pass to second-year tight end AJ Barner. Sam Darnold orchestrated a five-play, 37-yard drive to get the Seahawks in the end zone.
Jason Myers’ stayed perfect with an extra point, but New England immediately responded with a touchdown of their own.
Drake Maye threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to receiver Mack Hollins, and Andres Borregales’ extra kick was good to bring the score to 19-7.
Seahawks star Jaxon Smith-Njigba being evaluated for concussion
The Seahawks’ offense took a big hit in the second half when Jaxon Smith-Njigba was spotted inside the medical tent during the third quarter of Super Bowl LX.
It wasn’t immediately clear what his injury was, but the 23-year-old receiver went back to the locker room for further evaluation. According to the team, he is being evaluated for a concussion.
Smith-Njigba, who had the most yards receiving of any player in the NFL in the regular season, has three receptions for 24 yards.
Jason Myers stays perfect with 41-yard field goal to give Seattle a 12-0 lead
The Seattle Seahawks improved their lead against the Patriots to 12-0 with another 41-yard field goal by Jason Myers.
The field goal capped off a 10-play, 69-yard drive that saw a number of incomplete passes from Sam Darnold, who is 12-of-27 for 140 yards. The highlight of the drive was a 20-yard completion to Kenneth Walker.
Walker has 100 yards on 17 carries, and another 26 yards on two catches.
The Patriots responded with a quick three-and-out.
Bad Bunny performs Super Bowl LX halftime show as Levi’s Stadium shares message about hate
Bad Bunny took center stage at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show after weeks of debate about the Puerto Rican Grammy Award–winning artist’s criticism of the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations.
Towards the end of his performance, a message about hate was posted on the big screen at Levi’s Stadium that read, “The Only Thing More Powerful Than Hate is Love.”
Bad Bunny also held up a football to end the show that was inscribed with another message, “Together, we are America.”
Myers nails 41-yard field goal as Seahawks take 9-0 lead over Patriots at halftime
Jason Myers extended Seattle’s lead to 9-0 against the New England Patriots as the Seahawks are just one half away from being crowned Super Bowl LX champions.
The 34-year-old veteran and two-time NFL scoring leader has been perfect so far, scoring a 41-yard field goal for his third, and longest, of Sunday’s game. Meanwhile, offensive play from both teams has been lackluster.
Sam Darnold has struggled through the first half. He is 9 of 22 for 88 yards, with no touchdowns. Drake Maye has been sacked three times for a loss of 30 yards and is 6 of 11 for 48 yards.
Seattle has picked up just 95 yards on the ground, compared to New England’s 33 yards.
Trump critics take issue with Green Day's Super Bowl LX performance
Green Day rocked Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, ahead of Super Bowl LX as the NFL honors Super Bowl MVPs of the past.
The punk rock band played "Holiday" and "American Idiot" – two of their most political songs – for fans who were trickling in before kickoff. However, the band refrained from taking jabs at President Donald Trump and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during their performance.
NFL and Green Day fans who tuned into the performance were hoping that the group would have more criticism for Trump and his administration with millions watching around the world.

Jon Bon Jovi, Chris Pratt, and Jay-Z lead star-studded Hollywood takeover at Super Bowl LX
Hollywood's biggest stars descended upon Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California for Super Bowl LX — where the Seattle Seahawks are taking on the New England Patriots.
Patriots fan Jon Bon Jovi and Seattle Seahawks fan Chris Pratt hit the field on Sunday to introduce their teams ahead of the game.
Also appearing on the field was rapper Jay-Z, who brought his eldest child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter, whom he shares with wife Beyoncé.
Travis Scott, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Roger Federer were spotted on the field early — prior to the big game on Sunday.

Seahawks extend lead to 6-0 on 39-yard field goal
Seattle’s offense stalled in the red zone again, but extended their lead in Super Bowl LX with a 39-yard field goal from Jason Myers.
The Seahawks looked primed to score the first touchdown of the game on second-and-12 at New England’s 19-yard line, but an incomplete pass and a loss of two yards on the next play paved the way for Myers’ return to the field.
The eight-play, 55-yard drive gave Seattle a 6-0 lead with 11:16 left in the first half.
Seattle leads Super Bowl LX 3-0 after one quarter
The Seahawks remain in the lead after a touchdownless first quarter. The first 15 minutes of play have been dominated by strong defensive play from both teams.
Sam Darnold completed 4-for-10 passes for 54 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per pass, while Drake Maye’s passing has been more efficient but limited, with 4-for-5 for 34 yards. He was sacked twice for a loss of 20 yards.
Myers’ 33-yard field goal remains the only points on board.
Patriots end up empty-handed on opening drive
Second-year quarterback Drake Maye was sacked and the New England Patriots failed to get on the board after an eight-play, 28-yard opening drive in Super Bowl LX.
Seahawks linebacker Derick Hall picked up the first sack of the game, taking down Maye on New England’s own 45-yard line for a loss of 10 yards. Maye then scrambled for an 11-yard gain, but after throwing an incomplete pass on third-and-9, the Patriots punted the ball.
Seattle returned the favor, punting after a quick three-and-out.
Seahawks take early lead with opening drive field goal
The Seattle Seahawks are officially on the board after a successful field goal attempt on the opening drive of Super Bowl LX.
Sam Darnold, appearing in his first Super Bowl, led an eight-play, 51-yard drive that ended on New England’s 14-yard line. Jason Myers' 33-yard field goal attempt was good for 3-0 lead with 11:58 left in the first quarter.
Black national anthem stokes social media outrage before Super Bowl LX
Coco Jones performed "Lift Every Voice and Sing" on Sunday ahead of Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
"Lift Every Voice and Sing" is also known as the Black national anthem and has been a source of consternation for NFL fans since the league started to use the song during the 2020 season. Each Super Bowl, the performance of the song brings out hot takes on social media.
Super Bowl LX was no different, as the song being a part of the pregame festivities drew backlash on X once again.
Jones’ song was performed as fans began to trickle into Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. She was the opener before Green Day made a special performance to honor Super Bowl MVPs over the last 59 Super Bowls.
Jones' rendition drew a lot of praise, while the NFL's use of the song was the main sticking point with critics.

Green Day avoids anti-Trump message in Super Bowl performance
Green Day opened Super Bowl LX Sunday evening with a performance of some of their greatest hits, but the rock band notably skipped over a line from its 2004 hit "American Idiot" that they have recently used to call out President Donald Trump.
The line, which was written as "I’m not part of a redneck agenda," has been sung by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong as "I’m not part of the MAGA agenda" in more recent live performances. But that wasn’t the case on Sunday.
Armstrong appeared to skip over the verse altogether.
The decision not to change or sing the lyrics comes days after Armstrong called out the Trump administration and ICE in a pre-Super Bowl performance in California.
"To all the ICE agents out there, wherever you are, quit your s----y-ass job. Quit that s----y job you have," Armstrong said during the show.
"Because when this is over — and it will be over at some point in time — Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, Donald Trump, they’re gonna drop you like a bad f-----g habit. Come on this side of the line."

Which NFL players coaches and team personnel receive Super Bowl rings?
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will be battling it out for the Lombardi Trophy, and the winner will receive Super Bowl rings.
But who all gets a Super Bowl LX ring?
Both the winners and losers of the big game actually get a ring, but only the winners will receive a Super Bowl ring.
The losers will get a conference championship ring for winning their respective conferences.
Every single player on the winning 53-man roster receives a ring featuring their name and jersey number.
Practice squad players will also receive a ring, albeit a less valuable version than the ring those on the 53-man roster get.
Coaches, executives, and team employees can all get rings at the winning team’s discretion. The NFL puts $5,000 toward each ring for the first 150 of them, and the team finances the rest.
Depending on the size of the organization and the owner’s willingness to get them for their employees, teams can give anywhere from 300 to 900 Super Bowl rings.
Super Bowl LIX set record as the most-watched game in history
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks have a tough act to follow in Super Bowl LX.
Last year's Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles was the most-watched telecast in history, according to Fox Sports.
Super Bowl LIX averaged 127.7 million viewers across all platforms and set a new all-time high mark for Super Bowl viewership, up 3% from the year before. The game peaked with 137.7 million viewers.
With the Patriots gunning for their seventh Super Bowl win, and with the Seahawks having both an ardent fan base and haters, the Super Bowl should draw well.
In addition to the game, the halftime show is featuring Bad Bunny. Laat year’s halftime show with Kendrick Lamar averaged an all-time high of 133.5 million viewers, which was up 3% from the previous year.
Which NFL teams have never won a Super Bowl?
There are 12 teams that have never won a Super Bowl, and four teams that have never appeared in a Super Bowl.
Here are the four teams that have never appeared in a Super Bowl:
Detroit Lions
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars
There are three teams that have appeared just once in the Super Bowl and the year they appeared:
Arizona Cardinals (2009)
Los Angeles Chargers (1995) Tennessee Titans (1999)
Two teams have appeared in the Super Bowl and lost both times.
Atlanta Falcons (1999, 2017)
Carolina Panthers (2004, 2016) The Cincinnati Bengals are the only team to go to the Super Bowl three times (1982, 1989, 2022) and lose all three times.
There are two teams that have gone to the Super Bowl four times and lost all four times.
The Bills’ losses especially hurt because they made the Super Bowl four years in a row, from 1990 to 1993, and lost all four.
The Vikings are the other team to appear in the Super Bowl four times and lose all of them.
Their Super Bowl appearances, albeit not all consecutive, were still bunched together. They went to the big game in 1970, 1974, 1975 and 1977.
Super Bowl 2027 and 2028 host cities announced with Los Angeles and Atlanta
Super Bowl LX is being held in Santa Clara, California, at Levi’s Stadium.
But where are the upcoming Super Bowls being held?
In 2027, the Super Bowl will return to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The first time that SoFi Stadium hosted the Super Bowl, the Rams won in their own home stadium when they took down the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. The greater Los Angeles area has hosted the Super Bowl eight times.
In 2028, the Super Bowl will be held in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium; it will be the fourth time Atlanta has hosted a Super Bowl.
Atlanta last hosted Super Bowl LIII in 2019, where Tom Brady and the Patriots beat the Rams 13-3.
It is not yet known where the Super Bowl will be held in 2029.
Biggest single-game Super Bowl records ever set
With Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks happening tonight, let’s look at some of the single-game Super Bowl records.
Patriots legend Tom Brady holds a few of those illustrious records.
Brady holds the single-game record for most passing yards (505 in Super Bowl LII) and the most passing completions and attempts in a game (43 of 62 in Super Bowl LI). New York Giants legend, Phil Simms, holds the highest completion percentage (minimum of 20 passing attempts) in a single game in Super Bowl history, when he completed 88% of his passes in Super Bowl XXI.
No one has thrown more touchdowns in a single game than 49ers quarterback Steve Young, when he threw six touchdown passes in the 49ers’ 49-26 rout over the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX.
Rich Gannon holds one of the single-game Super Bowl records that you don’t want to hold.
Gannon is the record-holder for most interceptions thrown in a game with five in the Oakland Raiders’ 48-21 loss to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII.
Timmy Smith holds the record for most rushing yards in a Super Bowl game, with 204 yards for the then Washington Redskins in their 42-10 victory over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts tied a single-game record in his first Super Bowl appearance a few years ago.
Hurts tied Terrell Davis for most rushing touchdowns in a game, with three rushing touchdowns in the Eagles’ 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
Davis’ three rushing touchdowns helped propel the Broncos to their 31-24 Super Bowl victory over the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII.
49ers legend Jerry Rice holds a few different single-game Super Bowl records.
Rice holds the record for most receiving yards (215 in Super Bowl XXIII), most scrimmage yards (220 in Super Bowl XXIII), and receiving touchdowns (3 in both Super Bowl XXIX and Super Bowl XXIV).
While logic would lead you to think a tight end or wide receiver would hold the record for most receptions in a single-game in Super Bowl history, it is a running back who holds the record.
Patriots running back James White had 14 receptions in the team’s legendary comeback, beating the Falcons 34-28 in overtime of Super Bowl LI after being down 28-3 at one point.
Defensively, L.C. Greenwood recorded four sacks in the Steelers’ 21-17 win over the Cowboys in Super Bowl X.
Rod Martin holds the record for most interceptions in a Super Bowl, with three interceptions in the Oakland Raiders’ 27-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XV.
Dan Morgan holds the record for most combined tackles, with 18 in the Carolina Panthers’ 32-29 defeat to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVIII.
Why is the Super Bowl on a Sunday?
Every single Super Bowl in NFL history has been played on a Sunday. Why?
If it were on a Saturday, fans could have extravagant Super Bowl parties and not have to worry about work the next day.
Kids could stay up and watch the whole game instead of having to get ready to go to school on Monday morning. The main reason the Super Bowl isn’t played on Saturday is television ratings. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell explained why during an interview in 2018.
“That (idea) has been around for a long time, people have talked about that. The reason we haven't done it in the past is simply just from an audience standpoint,” Goodell said during an interview on “The Kyle Brandt Football Experience.”
“The audiences on Sunday night are so much larger. Fans want to have the best opportunity to be able to see the game and we want to give that to them, so Sunday night is a better night."
Goodell said during his press conference on Monday that there are no discussions about having an 18-game season. If there were an 18-game regular season, it would in theory push the Super Bowl to Presidents Day weekend.
If that were the case, it would give fans the ability to enjoy the Super Bowl fully, without worrying about work or school the next day.
Simply put, the Super Bowl is on Sunday because of the audience it commands in the Sunday night time slot.
How NFL Super Bowl host cities are selected
Super Bowl LX will be played in Santa Clara, California, at Levi’s Stadium.
How did the NFL come to select Santa Clara as the Super Bowl’s host city, and what is the process for selecting cities?
The cities are not selected on a whim, but rather a through a thorough process that involves a lot of people and weighs a lot of factors.
Matt Shapiro, the vice president of events strategy for the NFL, says that the process begins with the league gauging host interest from all the teams, per Axios.
The NFL will then look at previously announced cities and future plans and then evaluate “what might make sense for each year,” Shapiro said.
Then the NFL will work with its Fan Engagement and Major Events Advisory Committee. That committee is a group of 11 different teams that are represented by owners and presidents to review potential cities.
Once the committee is done meeting, the NFL will put forth recommendations to all the owners for a vote.
Then the location is announced “once there has been an affirmative vote,” Shapiro said.
Key factors in the decision-making process are weather, stadium quality, and nearby venues that can handle hosting such a big event.
It’s why it is common that most Super Bowls are held in warmer cities, or domes.
The last time the Super Bowl was hosted in cold weather was when it was held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Seattle Seahawks demolished the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII to win that game in New Jersey.
Likely due to the cold weather, the state of Ohio has never hosted a Super Bowl.
In 2027, the Super Bowl will return to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The first time that SoFi Stadium hosted the Super Bowl, the Rams won in their own home stadium, when they took down the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.
In 2028, the Super Bowl will be held in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta hosted Super Bowl LIII, where Tom Brady and the Patriots beat the Rams 13-3
How many fans are expected at the Super Bowl
Super Bowl LX is being hosted at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks fans will fly in from their respective cities to watch their teams play in the big game.
How many of them will be in attendance for the Super Bowl?
A specific number has yet to be released, but there are a couple of statistics that offer a rough estimate of how many fans will be in attendance tonight.
When Santa Clara last hosted the Super Bowl in 2016 between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, a total of 71,088 fans attended that game.
Levi’s Stadium is the home of the San Francisco 49ers, and they averaged 71,117 fans in their home games this season, according to Statista.
Taking those numbers into account, it is expected that between 65,000 and 75,000 will be in attendance.
Super Bowl I the first championship game as the Packers beat the Chiefs 35-10
The first-ever Super Bowl was held in Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.
The Green Bay Packers, led by the legendary head coach Vince Lombardi, beat the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10 on Jan. 15, 1967. Packers quarterback Bart Starr was named Super Bowl MVP, completing 16 of 23 passes for 250 yards, while throwing two touchdowns against one interception.
Packers running backs Jim Taylor and Elijah Pitts both had strong days on the ground. Taylor had 17 carries for 56 yards and one touchdown, while Pitts had 11 carries for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Wide receiver Max McGee was Starr’s top target, catching seven passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
The Chiefs were able to cut the lead to 14-10 before halftime after a Mike Mercer field goal, but the Packers scored 21 unanswered points to close out the game.
Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson completed 16 of 27 passes for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the loss. Wide receiver Curtis McClinton scored the lone touchdown for the Chiefs on one of his two catches on the day.
The Packers would go on to win the Super Bowl the next season when they defeated the Raiders 33-14 in Super Bowl II.
The Chiefs made it back to the Super Bowl just a few years later, defeating the Vikings 23-7 in Super Bowl IV.
Do NFL players get paid for playing in the Super Bowl?
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are playing in Super Bowl LX for a chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
But they are also playing for a paycheck, as the winners and losers both receive bonuses, though the bonuses differ between the losing and winning teams.
The players being paid bonuses in the Super Bowl stem from the latest Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players Association.
The winning team’s players of Super Bowl LX will receive a $178,000 bonus per player while the losing team will receive a $103,000 bonus per player. The figures are a $7,000 increase from last year’s Super Bowl.
However, not every player will receive the same amount.
Players will receive the bonus if they have played the last three games during the regular season or playoffs and are on the team’s active or inactive list when the Super Bowl is played.
They will also receive the full bonus if they played at least eight games across the regular season and playoffs, regardless of being on the active or inactive’s list.
Players can also receive a full bonus if they are a veteran player who was injured during the regular season but is still under contract when the Super Bowl is played.
Players will receive 50% of the bonus if they played fewer than the three previous games during the regular season/playoffs, are not on the active/inactive list, but played between three and seven games during the regular season and playoffs.
First-year players who were injured in the regular season but are under contract for the Super Bowl will also receive 50% of the bonus.
So regardless of the outcome, players will be paid for their teams making it to the Super Bowl.
What was the most expensive Super Bowl ticket ever sold
Tickets for Super Bowl LX are a hot commodity.
Fans are flocking to Santa Clara to watch the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks.
The average ticket price to get into Levi’s Stadium is $8,131.98, according to TicketIQ. The cheapest ticket is $4,951.000, and are located in Section 420, Row 20.
The most expensive tickets are $51,305, and are in the VIP area, which is Section 115, row 24, according to the website.
When Santa Clara last hosted the Super Bowl in 2016 between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, and a total of 71,088 fans attended that game.
Levi’s Stadium is the home of the San Francisco 49ers, and they averaged 71,117 spectators in their home games this season, according to Statista.
With those numbers, it is fair to assume that there should be around 70,000 fans attending the big game.
How did the Super Bowl get its name?
The Super Bowl is the largest sporting event in the United States every year.
But how did it get its name?
Then-NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle’s first idea was to call the game “The AFL-NFL World Championship Game,” but it never stuck due to its length.
As the owners were continuing to brainstorm, Lamar Hunt Jr., son of former Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt, said that the idea for the Super Bowl actually stemmed from a toy.
Hunt Jr. had a toy called the “Super Ball,” and his father drew inspiration from it.
“My dad was in an owner’s meeting. They were trying to figure out what to call the last game, the championship game. I don’t know if he had the ball with him as some reports suggest. My dad said, ‘Well, we need to come up with a name, something like the ‘Super Bowl.' And then he said, ‘Actually, that’s not a very good name. We can come up with something better.’ But ‘Super Bowl’ stuck in the media and word of mouth,” Hunt Jr. said via Time.
And that’s how the Super Bowl, America’s largest sporting event, got its name.
The maker behind the NFL’s Lombardi Trophy
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are playing in Super Bowl LX with the hopes of doing one thing.
Lifting the Lombardi Trophy.
But who makes the trophy, and what is it made of?
Tiffany & Co. has been making the trophy since the Super Bowl’s inception in 1967, when it was first awarded to the Green Bay Packers.
The trophy is made of sterling silver and weighs seven pounds and stands 22 inches tall. Unlike the Stanley Cup in the NHL, which is passed from team to team every season, each winning team gets to keep its own trophy.
So every year in Tiffany’s workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island, a new trophy is made.
The Patriots currently have six Lombardi trophies and are looking to add an NFL-record seventh while the Seahawks have one Lombardi trophy and are looking to double their total with a win tonight.
Super Bowl champions and MVPs through history
The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are playing in Super Bowl LX.
The Patriots have won six Super Bowls, and with a win over the Seahawks, they will have won the most titles in NFL history. They are currently tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most titles.
However, if the Patriots lose to the Seahawks, they will have the most Super Bowl losses of any franchise in NFL history. They are currently tied with the Denver Broncos for the most losses in the big game, at five.
The Seahawks have won one Super Bowl in franchise history, when they demolished the Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII. They lost 21-10 to the Steelers in Super Bowl XL and 28-24 to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.
These franchises have won the most Super Bowls: Patriots (6), Steelers (6), Cowboys (5), 49ers (5), Giants (4), Packers (4), Chiefs (4), Broncos (3), Commanders/WFT/Redskins (3), Raiders (3), Buccaneers (2), Colts (2), Dolphins (2), Eagles (2), Ravens (2), Rams (2), Bears (1), Saints (1), Jets (1) and Seahawks (1).
These are the results from the last five Super Bowls:
Super Bowl LIX: Eagles def. Chiefs, 40-22
Super Bowl LVIII: Chiefs def. 49ers, 25-22
Super Bowl LVII: Chiefs def. Eagles, 38-35
Super Bowl LVI: Rams def. Bengals, 23-20
Super Bowl LV: Buccaneers def. Chiefs, 31-9
The Super Bowl MVP is chosen by a combination of fan vote and 16 football writers and broadcasters.
The panel of 16 hold the majority of weight in the decision, with their ballots counting for 80% of the vote and the fan vote accounting for the remaining 20%. Electronic votes from fans have been part of the decision since 2001.
Here are the last five Super Bowl MVP winners:
Super Bowl LIX: Jalen Hurts, Eagles
Super Bowl LVIII: Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
Super Bowl LVII: Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
Super Bowl LVI: Cooper Kupp, Rams
Super Bowl LV: Tom Brady, Buccaneers
Countdown to kickoff
Super Bowl LX will get underway in a few more hours with the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots both hoping to add to the trophy case once Sunday is over.
Sam Darnold will lead the Seahawks into the game following a fantastic season. The Seahawks ended 2025 as the No. 1 team in the NFC. Seattle was 14-3 and defeated the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams on their way to the Super Bowl.
Drake Maye nearly won the MVP award before he stepped onto the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Maye led the Patriots to their latest AFC East title and first since Bill Belichick departed from the team. New England finished 14-3 and were No. 2 in the AFC. The Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos on their way to the Super Bowl.
Super Bowl LX kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.
