Both John Cena and Nikki Bella shared inspirational messages with their followers on social media this Saturday, the day that was supposed to be their big wedding day.

After their surprising split just weeks before the big day, Cena and Bella each found solace on social media. Cena was first, posting a tweet to fans on Saturday that seemed to reference the ongoing situation.

“If you choose to keep moving, no matter how low the road takes you, it will eventually begin to climb back up. #NeverGiveUp,” Cena, 41, tweeted.

If that message was too subtle, a follow up tweet on Sunday seemed to have less mystery.

“Learn from your mistakes. A life of regret is a life unfulfilled,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Nikki had a much more subdued approach on social media during the big day. The “Total Divas” star posted a simple text card to Instagram with an inspiring quote.

“Chin up princess or the crown slips,” she posted with no caption on the photo-sharing app.

Later, she posted to her Instagram Story that she was headed to Miami amid a myriad of fans commenting their support. Instagram was a good choice for the star to post her note on the would-be wedding day, as that was the medium in which the couple chose to announce their separation in April.

“After much contemplation and 6 years of being together Nikki Bella and John Cena announced today their decision to separate as a couple,” the statement read. “While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”

According to insiders, the split came as the wedding date approached and Cena, who previously expressed having doubts about ever getting married again after his first ended in 2012, allegedly got cold feet.
