In the wake of allegations about Donald Trump's having sexually harassed or assaulted women hitting the front pages, a number of celebrities have also opened up about past sexual abuse by entertainment-industry executives.
The latest person to speak out is former “Cheetah Girl” Adrienna Bailon.
“I even experienced an executive that would kiss me on the lips,” the 32-year-old co-host of “The Real” said on the show on Tuesday. “It consistently happened to the point where I was like, 'This ain't cool, man.' Now he knows I'm not going to say anything. Which is not OK.”
The singer and actress said she was just a teenager when it happened and let it go on – she even believed at first that he had done it by accident. She didn’t reveal who the music executive was or where he worked.
"Obviously that happened then, I would never allow that to happen now, but a lot of women are in fear,” said Bailon, who added that fear plays a big part in allowing men to get away with the harassment. “These men are usually –"
Then Bailon's co-host Jeannie Mai cut in, saying, "Famous."
Bailon nodded, adding, "Because you're famous you think you can get away with it.”
Bailon’s admission follows that of actress Rose McGowan, who revealed last week that she was raped by a Hollywood executive and told by a female defense attorney that no one would believe her because she had done a film with a sex scene.
