South African prosecutors call convicted killer as witness in honeymoon murder trial

A South African man convicted of murdering a woman during her Cape Town honeymoon is testifying against the woman's husband, a British businessman accused of organizing the killing.

Mziwamadoda Qwabe testified Wednesday in a South African court against Shrien Dewani, whose murder trial started this week after several years during which he fought extradition from Britain.

Qwabe had been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the killing of Anni Dewani, a Swedish national. Two other men have also been convicted for her murder.

Prosecutors say Shrien Dewani conspired with the convicted killers to murder his wife. On Monday, he pleaded not guilty to murder, kidnapping and other charges.
