LONDON -- Three men arrested by British police on terrorism-related charges at Heathrow Airport on Thursday night have been bailed until June.

The trio who arrived in London on a plane from Oman were picked up by West Midlands Police Counter Terrorism as part of a planned, intelligence-led operation involving the Omani authorities.

They were arrested on suspicion of possessing articles and documents with intent to use them for terrorist purposes overseas.

Authorities have noted that the arrests were not made in response to any immediate threat to public safety.

The three men, aged 33, 33 and 39, all live in Birmingham, central England.

As part of their bail conditions they must live and sleep at specified addresses, report to a police station three times a week, and adhere to an overnight curfew, West Midlands Police said.
