An Ethiopian official says a blast at the biggest mosque in the capital, Addis Ababa, has wounded ten people.

Information Minister Getachew Reda said Friday they are not sure who is responsible for the grenade attack at the Grand Anwar Mosque.

Despite deploying troops to Somalia to fight the al-Qaida-linked militant group al-Shabab, Ethiopia has largely avoided retaliatory extremist attacks from the militants.

Al-Shabab has previously targeted Kenya, Uganda and Djibouti who have also deployed troops to Somalia under the banner of the African Union to bolster the country's weak U.N.-backed government from an insurgency by the militants.
