An unmanned drone dropped explosives on a U.S.-led base near the Erbil airport in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq on Wednesday night, according to reports.

There were no immediate reports of injuries, Reuters reported, citing Kurdish officials. Rocket attacks have reportedly also hit U.S. bases in the country.

A Turkish soldier was reportedly killed in a separate rocket attack Wednesday, Turkish officials said, according to Reuters.

A group thought to be aligned with Iran praised the report of the drone attack but no one has explicitly claimed responsibility for it.

The U.S. has blamed attacks on Iran-backed militias, which have called for the withdrawal of all foreign troops, according to Reuters.

The Erbil base was attacked by rockets in February,  leaving a non-American contractor working with U.S. forces dead.

Iraqi reports on Friday of a similar drone attack on the U.S. Ain al-Asad Air Base in Anbar Province has been denied by at least one U.S. official to Fox News.

"There is no operational reporting at this time to support an attack at Al Asad Air Base," Pentagon Spokesperson Commander Jessica L. McNulty told Fox News.
