Police said the three teens were apprehended shortly after entering the grounds of Mar-a-Lago and did not break into or enter any buildings.

"They had no idea where they were,” Palm Beach Police Department spokesman Michael Ogrodnick told Fox News.

Ogrodnick noted that the president and his family were not at the club, which is closed for the summer.

WASHINGTON DC POLICE OFFICER 'FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE' AFTER SHOOTING KILLS TEEN, INJURES 20

According to a police report obtained by Fox News, police spotted the teens in a silver Hyundai around midnight on Friday, July 31 with its daytime running lights on. When officers approached the vehicle, the driver took off toward Mar-a-Lago.

As the vehicle approached the club, the teens encountered another officer who was conducting an unrelated traffic stop, and abruptly stopped the car. In an effort to evade police, the teens ditched the vehicle and climbed over a wall into Mar-a-Lago.

A short time later, Mar-a-Lago security advised of a backpack and car keys found on the seawall on the southwest corner of the property. After conducting a search of Mar-a-Lago, police found and arrested the three teens, who were hiding on the grounds, with the help of a helicopter and police dog.

Officers then recovered the backpack, which contained a Mini Draco 7.62 Caliber AK-47 loaded with a 14 round-magazine, which the teens claimed they had ‘found’, and the car keys to the vehicle.

The teens, whose identities have not been released, are being held at the Juvenile Assessment Center in West Palm Beach. They are charged with trespassing with a firearm, burglary with a firearm and resisting arrest without violence. The driver of the vehicle is also charged with driving without a license and fleeing and eluding.

SEATTLE MAYOR, POLICE CHIEF URGE SLOW DOWN OF POLICE CUTS

Mar-a-Lago has been the scene of several intrusions since Trump became president in 2017.

On Jan 31, Connecticut opera singer Hannah Roemhild was fleeing police in a rented SUV when she crashed through a check point outside of Mar-a-Lago, drawing gunfire from Secret Service agents and officers. She was not hurt. Roemhild has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

On Jan 5, just hours after Trump and his family had left the club following a two-week vacation, a Florida man who had been dishonorably discharged from the Marines for sex offenses was arrested after he got past two checkpoints. Authorities said Brandon M. Magnan had falsely identified himself as part of the president’s helicopter crew.

In March 2019, Chinese national Yujing Zhang gained access to Mar-a-Lago while carrying a laptop, phones, and other electronic gear. Zhang was found guilty of trespassing and lying to Secret Service agents and was sentenced in November to time served.

In December, the club’s security officers confronted another Chinese national, Jing Lu, 56 for trespassing and told her to leave, but she returned to take photos. Lu was charged with loitering and resisting an officer without violence after taking photos by entering a service entrance.

On Thanksgiving weekend 2018, university of Wisconsin student Mark Lindblom was caught sneaking into Mar-a-Lago while visiting the area with his parents. He was arrested and pleaded guilty to misdemeanor.
