Wolfsburg acquired Brazilian defender Naldo from Werder Bremen on Tuesday for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old Naldo joined Bremen in 2005, and scored 22 goals for the club. He debuted for Brazil in 2007, and has played four times for his country.

"I am delighted with this transfer," said Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath. "Naldo is just the right player to strengthen our team. He has a lot of experience in Europe to help us reach our goals."

Wolfsburg opens the 2012-13 Bundesliga season at Stuttgart on Aug. 26.
