Red Bull New York and the Philadelphia Union played to a 0-0 draw at Red Bull Arena on Saturday to remain separated by a single point in the Eastern Conference table.

Philadelphia's best scoring opportunity came in the 73rd minute when Sebastien Le Toux, a former Red Bull, curled a shot from distance off the crossbar, while New York nearly stole all three points deep into second-half stoppage time when Brandon Barklage met a corner kick delivery from Thierry Henry, but his header was placed directly at Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath.

The first-ever draw between the two clubs leaves New York tied with Sporting Kansas City for top spot in the Eastern Conference on 39 points apiece, though SKC can move into sole possession of first place with a positive result against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

Philadelphia, on 38 points, is now tied with the Montreal Impact after the Canadian club picked up a 2-1 victory over D.C. United on Saturday.
