Danielle Adams scored 20 points and Danielle Robinson added 17, leading the San Antonio Silver Stars to a 65-53 win over the New York Liberty.

Jayne Appel controlled the boards with 13 rebounds for San Antonio, which has won two straight on the heels of a four-game skid. The Silver Stars have won two in a row for the first time since June 1-7 and gave head coach Dan Hughes his 200th career victory.

Cappie Pondexter was New York's only real scoring threat with 20 points. The Liberty were trying for their first two-game win streak since mid-June and have lost seven of their nine games this month.

New York's Plenette Pierson scored the first bucket of the game, but the Silver Stars followed with the next eight points. Pondexter's three just before the first-quarter buzzer tied the game at 12-12 and New York took its last lead at 16-15 early in the second.

Adams followed with a three to ignite a 14-3 run. Robinson drained a pair from the stripe after New York coach Bill Laimbeer was ejected for his second technical, giving the Silver Stars a 29-19 cushion.

San Antonio carried a 31-22 advantage into the break and the Liberty got only as close as five in the second half.
