The managerial merry-go-round at Palermo continued on Tuesday as the Serie A club announced that Giuseppe Sannino has been re-appointed as boss.

Sannino becomes Palermo's fifth managerial appointment of the season. The 55- year-old was in charge at the start of the campaign but was sacked by club president Maurizio Zamparini just three matches into the season.

"Palermo Football Club announce they have re-entrusted the technical guidance of the first team to Giuseppe Sannino," read a statement on the club's official website. "The coach will this afternoon take his first weekly training session."

Sannino takes over for Gian Piero Gasperini, who coached Palermo to just three wins in 20 matches with the Serie A club. Alberto Malesani replaced Gasperini, but just three points earned from three games saw Gasperini return to the helm 19 days later. Gasperini's second spell in charge at Palermo came to an end on Monday, allowing Sannino to return to the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Palermo sits tied with Pescara for last place in Serie A with 21 points apiece.
