Roma, Juve play to draw at Stadio Olimpico

Rome, Italy ( - Carlos Tevez and Seydou Keita traded second- half tallies on Monday as Juventus and Roma played to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico in a top-two clash.

Tevez opened the scoring for the defending champions in the 64th minute, but it was canceled out by a set-piece goal from Keita with 12 minutes to play as the clubs were forced to share the spoils.

The result keeps Juve at the top of the table with 58 points, still nine clear of Roma.

Juventus came into the clash riding an 11-match unbeaten streak across all competitions, but it was a tough go for the Old Lady during a scoreless first half.

The match roared to life in the second half when Roma's Vasilios Torosidis was shown a second yellow card by referee Daniele Orsato, reducing the hosts to 10 men and giving Juve a free kick from about 20 yards out.

Tevez lined it up and blasted an excellent, curling strike into the top right corner of the net, leaving Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis with no chance for a save.

Despite playing a man down, Roma pulled level in the 78th minute with a well- executed set piece as Alessandro Florenzi swung a corner kick into the box with pace and Keita got on the end of it at the back post to nod it past Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Roma improves to 49 points from 25 matches, well behind Juve, but four points clear of third-place Napoli for an automatic spot in next season's Champions League.
