Redskins re-sign WR Moss; add Hatcher
Landover, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Redskins officially re- signed wide receiver Santana Moss on Thursday, two days after multiple reports broke he was coming back on a one-year deal.
The Redskins also reportedly came to terms with defensive tackle Jason Hatcher. NFL.com reports the team has agreed on a four-year, $27.5 million contract with the 31-year-old, a third-round draft pick of the Cowboys in 2006 who had spent his first eight seasons playing for Dallas. He had 11 sacks last season.
With Hatcher leaving Dallas, the Cowboys have now lost their top two pass rushers from last season. DeMarcus Ware reached an agreement on a three-year deal worth $30 million, with $20 million guaranteed, with Denver after being released by the Cowboys for salary-cap reasons.
Moss, who will turn 35 in June, had 42 catches for 452 yards and two touchdowns last season, his ninth for the Redskins.
The 13-year NFL veteran hasn't had more than 46 catches since grabbing a career-high 93 in 2010.
Moss has 722 receptions for 10,167 yards and 66 touchdowns in 187 career games for the Jets and Redskins.
