Daytona Beach, FL – Miguel Paludo will start on the pole for Friday night's NextEra Energy Resources 250 Camping World Truck Series race after posting the quickest lap in qualifying at Daytona International Speedway.
Paludo turned a lap at 181.514 mph around the 2.5-mile superspeedway for his first pole in his 30th career truck start. He finished fourth in this race here last year. Paludo's teammates, Nelson Piquet Jr. and James Buescher, qualified second and third, respectively, to give Turner Motorsports the top- three starting positions in the 250-mile truck season-opener at Daytona.
Ty Dillon, the younger brother of 2011 truck champion Austin Dillon, will start fourth. Ty, a rookie in the series this season, is driving the No. 3 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. Austin drove that truck during his title season last year, but he is now running a full-time schedule in the Nationwide Series.
Brad Keselowski, a Sprint Cup Series regular, will roll off fifth.
Starting sixth through 10th will be: Jason Leffler, Cale Gale, Jason White, Joey Coulter and Todd Bodine, who is a two-time truck race winner at Daytona.
Ward Burton, the 2002 Daytona 500 winner, will start 25th in his first NASCAR national touring series race since October 2007.
Ryan Sieg, Caleb Roark, T.J. Duke, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Wes Burton, Norm Benning, Wheeler Boys and Chris Cockrum failed to qualify for this race, which begins just after 7:30 p.m. (et).
