Mexico leaves Marquez off roster

Mexico City, Mexico – Mexico coach Jose Manuel de la Torre man roster announced Thursday for an upcoming friendly against Serbia.

Marquez, 32, is usually the captain for Mexico, but was not called up for the friendly on Nov. 11 against Serbia in Mexico. Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez was among seven European-based players named to the squad.

Following is the complete Mexico roster:

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa (Ajaccio), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca).

Defenders: Hugo Ayala (Tigres), Efrain Juarez (Real Zaragoza), Jonny Magallon (Guadalajara), Hector Moreno (Espanyol), Francisco Rodriguez (Stuttgart), Carlos Salcido (Tigres), Jorge Torres (Tigres).
