Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Mets third baseman David Wright, who has been on the disabled list for three weeks because of a strained right hamstring, is also experiencing back pain.

The Mets said Friday that while Wright's hamstring injury "is doing very well," he has experienced lower back pain in the past few days.

An MRI exam showed no structural damage in his back and Wright will resume baseball activities when the discomfort subsides, the Mets said.

Wright, 32, was batting .333 when he was placed on the disabled list April 15 after only eight games.
