Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Austin Jackson on the 15-day disabled list Monday due to a sprained right ankle.
Jackson exited Sunday's 7-6 loss to Houston after rolling his ankle while trying to beat out a ground ball to first base during the third inning. He stepped on pitcher Roberto Hernandez's foot at the base and was called out.
The 28-year-old owns a .242 batting average with two home runs, four RBI and 11 runs scored in 25 games this season.
In other roster moves, the Mariners recalled infielder Chris Taylor from Triple-A Tacoma, selected the contract of pitcher Joe Beimel from Tacoma and designated pitcher Mike Kickham for assignment.
