San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Erislandy Lara won a lopsided unanimous decision over Ishe Smith on Friday to keep his WBA junior middleweight title.

Lara (20-2-2) bullied the challenger throughout the fight and only lost one round on two judges' scorecards. The third judge gave Lara a 117-111 edge.

Smith (26-7), a former IBF title holder, has lost two of his last three bouts.

Lara dropped his previous fight against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in a controversial split decision five months ago. The meeting was at a catch- weight of 155 pounds, however, so Friday was Lara's first official title defense.
