Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins and forward Rudy Gay, the team's top two scorers, will miss the final three games of the season.
The Kings announced Cousins will begin rehabilitating his right ankle and other leg injuries, while Gay will be held out due to a concussion.
The team said Dr. Richard Ferkel examined Cousins in Los Angeles and revealed the veteran has sustained multiple leg injuries during this season. That includes ankle sprains and a calf strain.
An All-Star this season, Cousins averaged 24.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists in 59 contests this season.
Gay suffered a concussion in a March 30 loss at Memphis, but after missing the following three games he returned to action. He started experiencing symptoms earlier this week, and after consulting with medical personnel it was determined Gay not play the rest of the season.
In 68 contests this season, Gay averaged 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
