Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson will miss All-Star weekend because of tendinitis in his left knee, the team said Wednesday.

Johnson, who is averaging 17.6 points per game, was selected to the All-Star game as a reserve for the Eastern Conference.

Celtics guard Rajon Rondo will take his place, according to the Boston Globe.

The Hawks had already said that Johnson would miss their next two games before the All-Star break, Wednesday at New York and Thursday against Orlando.

He was forced to leave Monday's loss at Chicago because of the injury.
