EWU running back suspended for Montana game
Cheney, WA – Eastern Washington starting running back Mario Brown will sit out Saturday's Big Sky opener at Montana after the university and conference suspended him one game for fighting.
Brown, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound sophomore, threw a punch after Eastern Washington's 30-17 non-conference loss at South Dakota last Saturday
Brown is off to a slow start with 24 yards on 15 carries. He also has caught four passes for 37 yards.
Demitrius Bronson, a 5-10, 225-pound sophomore transfer from Washington, could start against Montana. He has carried the ball six times for 10 yards and caught one pass for five yards.
No. 10 Eastern Washington is 0-2. No. 10 Montana is 1-1.
