Chris Evans scored 21 points and Randal Holt added 19 points to lead Kent State to a 78-58 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday.

Devareaux Manley finished with 12 points for the Golden Flashes (17-12, 7-7 Mid-American Conference), who won their third in a row. Kris Brewer had eight points and nine assists.

Kent State went into halftime with a 37-33 lead and opened the second half strong. The Golden Flashes took a 50-38 lead with 14:10 left on a 3-pointer by Evans, who shot 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.

Miami trimmed the deficit to six points on Geovonie McKnight's jumper with 11:57 remaining. But the RedHawks pulled no closer, as Kent State scored the next seven points to push its advantage to 13 points.

Will Felder scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting for Miami (8-19, 3-11), which has lost seven straight games.
