Reopened in December 2009, Metalist Stadium was originally built in 1926. Renovated to accommodate 35,000 fans for UEFA events, the venue has changed names numerous times, but has stayed Metalist Stadium for decades.
Home to Ukraine club Metalist Kharkiv, the latest updates to the stadium also include a new scoreboard and new heated field. The new venue is also home to a three-story shopping mall and business center.
The stadium will host three matches, including all three group matches for the Netherlands - one of which is a game against three-time World Cup champion and three-time Euro winner Germany. Denmark and Portugal also play here once.
