Granada, Spain – Youssef El Arabi netted a double on Monday as Granda came away with a comfortable 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at the Estadio Los Carmenes.
Coming off a 1-0 loss to Valencia last week, Granada failed to generate much in the way of scoring chances over a scoreless opening 45 minutes, but found the first goal of the match in the 53rd minute when El Arabi converted a penalty kick to put the hosts in front.
The home side then doubled its lead in the 61st minute when El Arabi got on the end of a cross and easily nodded it home to complete his brace.
Athletic pushed numbers forward to attempt to get back into the match, but could never break down Granada's back line.
The result sees Granada up to 12th place in La Liga on eight points, while Athletic Bilbao remains in fifth on 12 points.
