London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Clint Dempsey is set to return to Fulham after it was announced Tuesday that the United States international will join the Cottagers on a two-month loan deal.
The 30-year-old spent five and a half seasons at Craven Cottage before leaving for Tottenham on deadline day in August 2012, but he will to return to his old stomping ground as he rejoins the Premier League side for the Major League Soccer offseason.
Dempsey, who will not be eligible to play in Fulham's Premier League contest against West Ham on Jan. 1, netted 60 goals in 225 appearances with the Cottagers and was voted the club's most outstanding player in back-to-back seasons (2010-11 & 2011-12).
