Papiss Cisse's sizzling form continued on Friday as the Senegal striker netted both goals for Newcastle in a 2-0 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The result sees the Magpies move to within two points of Arsenal and Tottenham for the fourth and final Champions League place, while Swansea remains in the middle of the league having lost its last three games.

Cisse entered the match on a hot streak since securing a January move to Newcastle, and he needed less than five minutes to open the scoring.

Yohan Cabaye provided a nice first-time through ball from midfield to lead Cisse into the penalty area, where his low shot was tipped by goalkeeper Michel Vorm but still found its way inside the left post.

Swansea was creating chances but lacked the ability to finish any of them, and Cisse continued his sparkling form with a second goal 20 minutes from time to seal the win.

Cabaye once again played provider and Cisse put the finishing touches on the move with a classy finish, chipping the ball over Worm while off balance to give him nine goals from his first eight games with the club.
