The Bruins and Wild traded defensemen on Monday, as Greg Zanon was shipped to Boston in exchange for Steve Kampfer.

A stay-at-home defenseman, the 31-year-old Zanon has played in 39 games for the Wild this season and has two goals and four assists.

The former fifth-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2000 has 11 goals and 43 assists over 432 NHL games with Nashville (2005-09) and Minnesota.

Kampfer has played in just 10 games for Boston this season and has recorded two assists. The 23-year-old was selected by Anaheim in the fourth round of the 2007 draft and has posted five goals and seven assists in 48 games at the NHL level, all of which have come with the Bruins.
