Marquan Botley, who finished with a career-high 23 points, drilled a go-ahead 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds left to lift Florida Atlantic over UTEP 71-69 Thursday night.

The Owls led by 13 with 4:46 remaining, but UTEP stormed back with an 11-2 run capped by a C.J. Cooper 3-pointer to pull within three with 1:15 remaining.

After a layup by D'Andre Johnson, Julian Washburn hit a 3 to make it 68-66. A turnover by Justin Raffington on the ensuing play led to a go-ahead 3-pointer by Cooper, and Botley followed by banking in the game-winner.

FAU (10-15, 5-5 Conference USA) shot 52 percent from the field and were 10 of 20 from beyond the arc. Pablo Bertone finished with 18 points.

The Miners (18-7, 8-2) had won eight straight and 13 of their last 14. Vince Hunter scored 18 points and John Bohannon had 16 with nine rebounds.
