The Toronto Blue Jays acquired second baseman Luis Valbuena from the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations on Saturday.

Valbuena, who turns 26 on Wednesday, appeared in just 17 games last season and had nine hits, including a home run, in 43 at-bats.

Over 229 games in four seasons in the majors, one with Seattle and three with Cleveland, he has batted. 226 with 13 home runs and 57 RBI.
