Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired prospect Devon Travis from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for outfielder Anthony Gose.

Travis spent the 2014 season with Double-A Erie, where he hit .298 with 20 doubles, seven triples, 10 home runs and 52 RBI. The right-handed hitter posted a .358 on-base percentage and stole 16 bases.

Selected by Detroit in the 13th round of the 2012 first year player draft, the second baseman was recently recognized by Baseball America as the No. 1 prospect in the Tigers' organization. Travis was named the Tigers Minor League Player of the Year in 2013.

Gose batted .226 with two homers, 13 RBI and 15 stolen bases in 94 games with the Blue Jays last season. He saw action at all three outfield positions, including 11 games at left field, 65 games at center field and 14 games at right field.

"Anthony is a true center fielder than can provide us with above average defense in center field with a good arm," said Tigers president, chief executive officer and general manager David Dombrowski. "He possesses above average speed and can steal bases at the major league level. He swings the bat from the left side and we feel that he will continue to improve his offensive game."

In 202 career games with Toronto, Gose batted .234 with 71 runs scored, 21 doubles, five home runs and 36 RBI.
