Baltimore's Millwood named MISL Player of Week

Baltimore Blast forward Machel Millwood was named the Major Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Week for Week 7 on Tuesday.

Millwood had 11 points as the Blast won two matches over the weekend to extend their lead at the top of the Eastern Division. Baltimore has won seven of its 10 matches.

Millwood had a goal and an assist in the Blast's 17-9 win against the Missouri Comets on Friday, then on Sunday had an eight-point match to lead the Blast to a 19-8 win against the Norfolk SharX.

Also Friday, the Milwaukee Wave defeated the Wichita Wings 15-4 to maintain an undefeated record. The defending MISL champion Wave have won all seven matches this season.

On Saturday, the Rochester Lancers defeated the Syracuse Silver Knights 18-14 to pull within one game of .500.

The season resumes Thursday with Norfolk visiting Rochester and Syracuse hosts Missouri on Friday in the only other match this week, but MISL will return to action Tuesday and have at least one game every day for the rest of the year.
