The Oakland Athletics reinstated third baseman Brandon Inge and pitcher A.J. Griffin from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday, part of the first day of roster expansion.

Inge was hitting .216 with 12 homers and 52 RBI in 82 games before being placed on the DL Aug. 14 with a sprained right shoulder.

Griffin went 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in eight starts prior to hitting the DL on Aug. 5 with right shoulder tightness.

In addition, Oakland recalled outfielder Collin Cowgill and infielder Brandon Hicks from Triple-A Sacramento.
