Donald Trump claims he's never met a disabled New York Times reporter that he's been criticized of mocking during a recent campaign rally.
While defending his claim Tuesday that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the Sept. 11 attacks, the Republican presidential hopeful cited an article written by then-Washington Post reporter Serge Kovaleski in 2001.
"[L]aw enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river," Kovaleski wrote at the time.
"Now, the poor guy — you ought to see the guy: 'Uh, I don't know what I said. I don't remember,'" Trump told supporters in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at his rally Tuesday while flailing his arms around.
