Tensions are high in Congress, Stoddard says

As Congress prepares to take a week-long break, both Republicans and Democrats held events Friday to highlight what they have and have not accomplished during the first weeks of the session.

A.B. Stoddard said on the “Special Report with Bret Baier” panel that the tension in Congress is high.

Republicans held a celebration Friday morning to mark the passage of Keystone pipeline legislation, while Democrats, led by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., held an event to criticize the Republicans for what she says they haven't done -- providing a "clean" DHS funding bill -- and touting the Dems for standing firm.

Stoddard added that Senate Republicans have “spent enough time on this bill that can’t pass to pass their own comprehensive immigration reform,” adding, “they are in this situation that is increasingly embarrassing."

“They finally have control of the Congress and you can understand why the House members are saying we don't want you to just bounce it back to us. Take some pain. You’re the majority now.”
