Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor will use crutches today as she makes the rounds on Capitol Hill after suffering what the White House calls a “small fracture” to her right ankle after tripping while trying to catch at flight at New York’s La Guardia Airport. A White House official would not say how long Sotomayor will need to use crutches.

“This morning, on the way to Washington, D.C., Judge Sotomayor tripped at LaGuardia Airport,” White House Spokesman Ben LaBolt. “After an X-ray at Medical Faculty Associates, it was determined that Judge Sotomayor has a small fracture in her right ankle. She has been treated and released and is looking forward to keeping her full schedule of meetings on Capitol Hill this afternoon."

Here is Sotomayor’s schedule of Senate appointments today: Senator Max Baucus, D-Montana; Senator Charles Grassley, R-Iowa; Senator Kay Hagan, D-North Carolina; Senator Mary Landrieu, D-Louisiana; Senator Jeanne Shaheen, D-New Hampshire; and Senator David Vitter, R-Louisiana.
