During an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," NBC News anchors Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie characterized Donald Trump as an intimidating figure for members of the media.
Lauer said the Republican presidential candidate and billionaire businessman got personal when he called into Lauer's news program recently to criticize his coverage of Trump's remarks about Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
"Excuse me Matt, because you're the media, and you do the same thing. The next sentence was 'He is a war hero.' I said that, but they never wanna play it, and you don't wanna play it," Trump said at the time.
"I think [Trump] was upset with the media in general, but he tended to make it a little personal," Lauer told Meyers on Tuesday.
