Howard Dean, who recently stepped down as chairman of the Democratic National Committee, has found another job.
The former Vermont governor will provide guidance to clients, particularly in the health care and energy sectors, at the government affairs practice at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.
"After a long career in public office, I look forward to the opportunity to turn some attention to working with the private sector, particularly in the areas of health care and alternative energy -- while supporting an agenda of fiscal responsibility," Dean said in a statement.
"McKenna has an excellent platform of policy advisors who are already working in a bipartisan way with government and industry to advance projects for the common good," he continued. "I'm very much at home here with this strong team, which includes a number of former elected officials."
Dean said he would have liked to work in the Obama administration but, after not being chosen for a job, he decided to embark on a life in the private sector following nearly 30 years in politics.
During his term as national party boss, Democrats recaptured the White House, seized majorities in Congress and picked up governorships.
