Throwback Thursday is a time for all on social media to unearth geeky pictures of themselves, and shock their followers with a virtual trip down memory lane. You know the drill -- pics in high school with horn rim glasses and Earth shoes, or in my case, striped gauchos and a poncho. (I will never forgive you, mom.)
Nancy Pelosi – or #DancyPelosi as she calls herself -- decided she would reach back five years into the archives pulling out this not-often-viewed YouTube video to show how she moves. And yes, that’s Kathleen Sebelius boogying on stage with her.
It wasn’t just the Democratic leader who got her groove on. Michelle Obama, on the fourth anniversary of her Let's Move initiative, challenged everyone to use social media to trot out their maneuvers using hashtag #LetsMove.
If enough people join in the campaign, the First Lady tells Jimmy Fallon she thinks she has enough pull to get the Pres and Veep to cut a rug.
During the Fallon interview, FLOTUS called kids “knuckleheads” for not taking better care of themselves. That didn't sit well with one boy who tweeted a photo of himself holding a note saying: “Let’s Move on to shrinking the government so I can secure my own future.”
Out of the mouths of babes...

Our #MediaBuzzFNC editorial team couldn't believe our ears when we heard what had happened to fellow journalist, Miles O’Brien, a former CNNer turned PBS NewsHour science reporter. While on location in Japan and the Philippines earlier this month, he dropped TV equipment on his arm, it swelled, and he had to have it amputated.
The grace Miles has shown is inspirational. In his blog he says, “…I am alive and I’m grateful for that. Please don’t worry about me. I’m sure I can cope just fine.” Today, he honors a speaking engagement he committed to before the accident. A dogged reporter talks to him.
People like Miles, who put on a sunny face when disaster has befallen them, deserve our praise, and our prayers.
