Elon Musk is a multi-billionaire technology entrepreneur and investor known for being the founder and chief executive of SpaceX and Tesla Inc. He is also involved in The Boring Company, a co-founder of Neuralink and Open AI. Musk is considered one of the most significant technology and space travel innovators of his generation. The South African native is a huge proponent of human colonization of Mars. Although he is considered one of the wealthiest people in the world, Musk lives in a simple $45,000 home in Boca Chica, Texas, near a SpaceX facility.

His social media presence and innovative status have made Musk a popular cultural figure in American society. Many wealth and stock indexes average his net worth to be worth more than $200 billion, which rivals other billionaires such as Jeff Bezos. Moreover, the billionaire frequently gives his opinions on global politics and economics, often criticizing the Biden administration and members of the Democratic party.

Musk received a bachelor's degree in economics and physics at the University of Pennsylvania. He moved to California in 1995 and co-founded the software company Zip2 with his brother. The pair later sold the business to Compaq for $307 million. In addition, Musk was a part of Paypal in 2002 when it sold to eBay for $1.5 billion.

Following the success of the late 1990s, by 2004, Musk had become involved with an electric vehicle manufacturer named at the time Tesla Motors. Musk helped grow the company into one of the leading car manufacturers in the world after becoming its chairman and product architect. Today Tesla Inc. is estimated to have more than $60 billion in assets, which helped Musk become one of the world's richest men. In 2018 he had to briefly step down as Tesla's CEO after the SEC sued him for tweets regarding a private takeover of the company.
