The New York Police Department says officers have fatally shot a man suspected of killing a woman outside a casino hours earlier.

Deputy Chief Kim Royster says police had tracked the suspect to the East New York section of Brooklyn, where he was killed in a shootout early Tuesday.

Less than four hours earlier, at around 2:30 a.m., a woman was shot to death outside the Resorts World Casino in Queens.

In April, the casino was the scene of a brawl involving about two dozen people that resulted in two arrests.
