Minutes after introducing the judges -- big time music producer Randy Jackson, rock star Steven Tyler and JLO -- American Idol host Ryan Seacrest felt inclined to bring up a comment about Lopez’s wardrobe malfunction at the Academy Awards this past weekend.
“JLO is here with another dress tonight,” Seacrest said with a huge smile on his face and looking at Lopez, who was wearing a fitting white dress and laughed off Seacrest’s mention.
What put Lopez over the edge was Tyler’s re-enactment of the nipslip on live television, just as contender Jeremy Rosado had finished an impressive performance on stage.
“Who am I?” Tyler asked as he faked a sneeze and pulled the left side of his shirt down, acting out Lopez’s Oscar boob incident and laughing hysterically afterward.
A stunned looking Lopez took a few seconds to collect herself and then yelled “It was no nipple!”
“That was a reenactment of the Oscars,” Seacrest added.
Jennifer Lopez’s dress was the talk of yet another awards ceremony, this time at Sunday’s Oscars presentation, which took place at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
The singer had a wardrobe malfunction while presenting the Academy Award for Best Costume Designs and Make-Up with fellow Latina and “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” co-star Cameron Diaz.
Lopez, 42, looked stunning as she worked the red carpet in wearing a cut-out see-through Zuhair Murad gown which had a plunging neckline reminiscent of her 2000 Grammy awards green Versace dress.
She then changed into a similar, maroon-colored dress for the Vanity Fair Oscars after party, hosted by Graydon Carter at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, Calif.
As JLO excitedly began giving her speech with Diaz, her left nipple peeked out, setting Twitter ablaze.
In a matter of minutes the trending topic became “#nipslip” and the Twitter account “@JLOsNipple” was created.
“#JLos dress was lovely. Simple with just a hint of areola,” “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” fashion expert and Dancing with the Starts alum Carson Kressley tweeted.
Others couldn’t believe Lopez had a malfunction so soon in the broadcast.
“Is it just me, or were we part of J-Lo's nipples on display...?#jennyneedsabra #Oscars” Savannah Harden tweeted.
In less than 24 hours, @JLOsNipple got close to 3,000 followers and tons of media attention, including mentions on MTV and USWeekly.
The singer’s now famous body part made a splash online with its first tweet: “Did you see me?!”
Despite all the close-ups of #nipslip, Lopez’s stylist denies what people saw was a boob.
“The dress fit perfectly to her every inch,” Mariel Haenn tweeted on Monday.
“There were cups built in and there's no chance that there were any, how do you say? 'slips.'"
